MAYORAL CANDIDATE KATE GALLEGO NEEDS FACTS

The Chinese American Community throughout metropolitan Phoenix observed the debate last night of the Candidates for Mayor of Phoenix and reminds Ms. Kate Gallego of important facts on the Chinese Cultural Center and Garden.

Fact-David Tedesco/True North/668 has never shown/stated an aim to bring high-technology new jobs to Phoenix with a cost of destroying a cultural iconic site vital to the minority Chinese American community.

Fact-David Tedesco/True North continued previous management harassment and unfair treatment of major and smaller Chinese American businesses ?ending jobs, reducing tax income to the City, and harming minority entrepreneurs. Electricity and telephones were cut; health and safety were further endangered by interrupting exhaust systems.

Fact-David Tedesco/True North always indicated that businesses he controlled ?Passport Health, Pump It Up, and Realty Executives were going to consolidate: therefore no net gain in employment.

Fact-David Tedesco/True North received two permits from City -not one on fencing, but also one to remove the irreplaceable art of the Chinese roofline. Both are challenged in court cases, and City costs have occurred and may rise.

In this political season, citizens of Phoenix must take heed. We must remember that the price of liberty is vigilance.

Citizens of Phoenix may wish to attend the City Council Meeting on September 19^th to voice views.
